2. Flexographic printing

(1) The loss of high gloss level is serious, and the highly elastic printing plate leads to a serious increase of dots, which makes the printing plate prone to bending deformation during printing, resulting in the deformation of the printed product, which restricts the development of flexographic printing technology.

(2) The number of screen lines in the pattern is not high. The number of mature screen lines is limited to about 133 lines/inch, and the detail level of the pattern is not as rich as offset printing and gravure printing.

3. Gravure printing

Although the ink color of gravure prints is bright, the biggest disadvantage is that the edges of text and patterns have jaggedness, which affects the level of detail in the highlight part of the printed product, especially for small characters, the jaggedness makes it not clear enough. For high-end labels, gravure printing has certain limitations; in addition, the ink used in gravure has a large pollution to the environment, and some countries in Europe and the United States have restricted the development of gravure, so in the future label printing industry, gravure will not There is a lot to do.

Although the screen printing products have bright ink colors and good three-dimensional effect, their registration accuracy is poor, and they are only suitable for printing products with a single color.

1. Advantages of waterless offset printing

(1) The number of added network lines is high

The structure of the printing plate of waterless offset printing is similar to that of a gravure, and the ink-receiving part of the image and text is concave, which reduces the probability of the ink spreading under the action of printing pressure, the dot increase rate is greatly reduced, and the number of screen lines of the product is greatly increased. . At present, the number of screen lines of waterless offset printing products can reach 300 lines/inch or even higher; while other printing methods currently do not exceed 200 lines/inch, the image detail level of waterless offset printing products is rich, which is in line with the label’s image texture. Require.

(2) Bright colors

The ink color of the waterless offset printing products is bright, the color gamut is wide, and the ink color of the products is always stable, which meets the high requirements of labels in terms of color. Because there is no water involved in the printing process, ink emulsification does not occur, and it does not cause a drop in color saturation or a change in ink color.

(3) High production efficiency

High production efficiency, less preparation time before printing, saving labor, and reducing paper waste. Since there is no water involved, the time for ink toning and registration of various color plates in the printing process is greatly reduced.

(4) Conducive to environmental protection

Since waterless offset printing does not involve water, there is no need for various chemical additives in traditional offset fountain solution, such as ethanol, isopropyl alcohol and other substances that pollute the environment.
